Neil Armstrong was born in America on 5th of August 1930.  He was the first person to walk on the moon in 1969.  He went to the moon in a space craft called Apollo 11. He was 39 years old.

When Neil Armstrong first put his left put foot on the moon he said
"Thats one small step for a man one giant leap for Man Kind.  450 Million people listened on the radio."

Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked around exploreing on the moon for 2 1/2 hours.  He spent eight days and 14 hours and 12 minutes and 30 seconds in space.

He also planted the flag of the United States on the moon.  Then he spoke to  President Nixon for one minute.

Neil Armstrong died in the weekend on 25 August 2012.  He was 82 years old.

I think he was a really clever space explorer.  It is sad that he died.
