EMOTION POETRY

We are learning to use describing words to make our writing interesting.Today the year 3 children in our class wrote poems on emotions.
We hope you enjoy them.

EMOTION POEM

ANGER

Anger is the colour dark red.
It looks like a shooting tornado.
Somehow it tastes like a raw shark.
It smells like a stinky, smelly, gym sock.
It sounds like someone screaming, shouting and yelling.
It feels like a needle stabbing into your neck.

Happiness

HAPPINESS

Happiness is the colour light pink.
It looks like a poppy.
It tastes like a pottle of yoghurt
It smells like a cool rose
It sounds like swishing petals in the wind
It feels like a soft teddy

Grumpiness

GRUMPINESS

Grumpiness is the colour dark purple.
It looks like an elephant bumping into walls.
It tastes like a rotten banana.
It smells like a smoky fire.
It sounds like a car crash.
It feels like saw jabbing my finger.

Emotion Poem

SADNESS
Sadness is the colour dark black.
It looks like a raindrop falling.
It tastes like stinky scallops.
It smells like a dead possum.
It sounds like slow music.
It feels like a funeral.

EMOTIONS POEM

SADNESS
Sadness is the colour dark blue.
It looks like tears falling from the sky.
It tastes like a burnt cookie.
It smells like a light, green rose in spring.
It sounds like butterflies flapping their wings.
It feels like being small.

Sharing Our Posters

Room 7 have been busy researching fish for our Inquiry Topic. Everyone chose a sea creature to study and then we found information in books and on the internet. We sorted through the information and made up a poster. Some of Room 7 children shared their Fish posters at assembly.

Jump Jam

On Tuesday the middle syndicate gathered in the hall for a session of Jump Jam. Thanks to the senior students who took us!

CONGRATULATIONS ELLIOT & KAHLUM

Well done Elliot and Kahlum for getting awards at 'Middle Syndicate Assembly'.

Brightwater School Auction

Yesterday we made some fish from salt playdough to sell at our school auction. First we had to draw up a plan of the type of fish we wanted to create. Then we made our fish. Some of us added shells to our fish for a different effect. Last night the fish were put into an oven to be baked hard. Today we painted them with a white undercoat. Tomorrow we will start applying colours.
Keep watching the blog for more photos of our progress.

Room 7's Last Swim For The Season.

Oh my goodness, it's our last swim for the season. What are we going to do? It was fantastic fun when we were swimming in the cold, gibbering, freezing pool.

By Cassidy

Oh no! It's Room 7's last swim this season. We got to have free time. Miss Read took a picture of Clayton and I. It was so cold, I felt like a chair that vibrates.Clayton and I saw how long we could stay under water for. I was doing overarm. It was fun, the whole class was playing with the ball

LAST DAY OF SWIMMING

Go Kylen!

Good catch Reon!

Oh OOh
This morning we went for a celebration swim.It WAS THE LAST! When we got in it was like a piece of frost on a stiff morning. In two minutes, I was out, I couldn't stand it. It was like an old man's freezing flesh on a snow, cold morning!

By Keegan

Friday the 13th of March was Room 7's last day of swimming for the season, and I'm pretty sad. The pool was almost like an ice-berg, but still most of Room 7 chose to join in our final swimming session. Miss Read took heaps of photos. Now we have to do our part by writing stories. Blimey! I hope this year goes by like a rocket ship so I can swim again! I'll make it, because I can always go to the Aquatic Centre after school if I need to. I think, when swimming season is back, I'll be so happy I'll faint. The pool was refreshing even though it felt like I was sitting in a freezer!

Middle Syndicate Swimming Sports

Today we went to the Wakefield School's pool to compete in our swimming. It was really warm in the pool because they have solar heating. There were five schools there to swim against. I had three events. My event numbers were 9, 13 and 17.

I Wish Poem

SHARKS

I wish I were
A shark
In the blue sea, hunting fish and others sharks too.
Gliding to find a home to sleep.
Madly.
