In the holidays I went whitebaiting with Bailey, Mum and Aunty Lorraine. We used nets and we caught 3 buckets full. There were lots of people doing it.
We made whitebait patties but Mum and I don't like them.
We had two bonfires on the beach and we toasted marshmellows. We had fantastic fun!

Yummy!!!! I love whitebait.I like eating them just with plain white bread and salt and pepper. The buckets must of been very heavy for you to carry Mitchell. Which river were you whitebaiting in? My parents used to dig whitebait into their garden many years ago for manure. They lived at Jacksons Bay which is south of Haast. You might be able to find it on a map.
