In Tonga.

Tonga is like..... hot in summer and winter. The beaches are like.....sandy, shelly, corally and rocky. Houses are like..... some are like houses in NZ, but some are Tongan houses. Summer can be very hot and winter is warm but sometimes in winter it can be cold. I went to school at Tonga but they spoke my language, so it was good. At my school all the boy's were wearing a shirt and shorts, the colour was grey. The girl's wear a white shirt and a dress.

On Tuesday the 7th of August Jessica Bird,Danielle Harris,Georgia Roden, Libby Wehner went to a JUMP JAM LEADERSHIP COURSE. We learned two new songs called '' Give it Up '' and a '' hip hop'' song. We had to learn to go on our left side and to cue people in at the right time. We went with Miss Godsiff all the way there and back. On the way there , there was a lot of traffic so that made us a little late. There were two parts to it and the first part was ''Keep on moving'' and the second part was 2 new songs. On the way back we got an ice block because Miss Godsiff felt like one.

GOING TO AUSTRALIA.

I am going to Australia soon and it is really scary. The weekend was really hard because I had to pack my luggage and I nearly took out my whole wardrobe and I had to put it in a tiny suit case and the straps nearly broke. I found a really small teddy so I put it on my clothes but it did not fit so I put it in my pocket of my suit case. Then when I finally got my suit case closed my mum told me to open it so I did but it took a really long time so finally my mum opened it. So now all I have to do is my hand luggage. And now I'm ready to go!!!

My Diary

On Tuesday 17 July, Miss Godsiff gave each child in
room seven a book to turn into a diary.
We were allowed to stick stickers on & in the
diaries & decorate them. On my one I put a
paper band which says PRIVATE.It helps to
keep my diary shut,so if it drops on the floor
it doesn't open. Some peoples diarys are not
secret so it doesn't really matter if you see a
bit of their diary, but even so,DON'T LOOK IN
OTHER PEOPLES DIARIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the 25th of June the middle syndicate went down to the Brightwater Domain for a Wheels Day. First room 7 went to the obstacle course. After a while it was a bit boring. Then we had lunch. Then room 7 went to the tennis court where we had to go round cones and hand signal .Then we went to the time trial. It was really fun. At the end my legs were aching. Then we went back to school.

Sneeze Safe Squad

Today Room 1 and Room 7 went to the hall to learn how to sneeze safely. When we went into the hall we got blue and green Sneeze Safe Squad stickers. We talked about three ways we can sneeze safely.
1. Into your elbow.
2.Into a tissue.
3. Into your hand, then washing your hand.

The safest method of catching your sneeze is in a tissue and then putting the tissue in the rubbish bin.

We put glitter into balloons to see how far a sneeze travels. We blew up our balloons and then let them go. The glitter went all over the hall. That means when you sneeze your germs travel the length of the hall.

The newspaper reporters came to taking photos of us sneezing safely.

Room 1 and 7's responsibility is to promote safe sneezing at Brightwater School.

Peter and the wolf.

On Wednesday the 14 February Peter and the Wolf the puppet show came to Brightwater School. The people that made the puppets did them 20 years ago. All the puppets were made out of the same materials and the tree and the house. On the cat's arms were valcroe so that he would stay on the tree. The characters were Peter, Cat, Bird, Wolf, Grandfather and the duck. The puppeters wore black so then they could blend into the backround. They all had their own instruments. Each puppet had a speacial way to hold it.

This is Room 7 for 2007

Hi there, we are Room 7. We are year 3 and 4 children. There are 29 of us in our classroom. So far this year we have decided on our class rules and have done a statistics unit in Maths. For the rest of the term we are learning about puppets from Africa. We are going to recreate an
African fable and present it as a puppet show with puppets we are going to make.
