Buddy Reading with Room 1

Each Friday Room 7 visits Room 1. Sometimes we take along a book and we read to the Room 1 kids. Then they get a browsing book and practise reading to us. Other times we test their spelling works.

In Room 7 we have been creating pictures of fish with koru designs.

Cassidy's Boat

Cassidy brought his lego boat to school on Monday to show us. He made it in one day! Cassidy you are very clever and you've done a fantastic job!

Puss 'n' Boots

Connor and Keegan shared their booklet they've made about the fairy tale "Puss 'n' Boots'
If you want to have a look at it, you'll find it on our library shelf.

Greta & Lucy's Book

Greta and Lucy made an awesome book about their favourite Fairy tale. It is in the class library shelf if you want to read it.

Hansel & Gretel Play

Stella, Caleb, Peta and Clayton acted their play to the class. They spent ages making a house decorated with lollies.

ANNABEL'S LAST DAY

On Friday last term Annabel had her last day at Brightwater school. We made her a 'Good-Bye' book and we had a shared lunch.
Annabel we hope you have a wonderful time at Hawera School.

Fancy Dress Friday

It is the fancy dress day today and lots of people have dressed in different costumes
For the big parade after lunch. Olly has dressed as Snape and Kyle(which is me,typing this)has dressed up Harry Potter.Most of the teachers has dressed up as a witches.

Today we are having a day where you dress up as your favourite book character. Me and my friend dressed up as darth vader and sonic. i'm happy cause its fancy dress day!

CROSS COUNTRY TRAINING

We have our school cross country on Friday, so we've been training hard.

PJ's at School?????

Yes...you're not seeing things! At the beginning of this term the children in Room 7 decided they wanted to celebrate making sensible choices by wearing their PJ's to school and having a wheels afternoon!

GO OLLY!

Olly went to the 'Gold Coast' with his family in the school holidays and had an awesome time! Here's a photo of Olly on one of the theme park rides.

After lunch we walked along the beach and discovered the tidal pools.

We had lunch on the rocks beside The Smokehouse. We had hot chips and a chocolate fish. Yummmmmmm

On Monday we are going to Mapua to finish our Inquiry Topic on "Fish". We are going fishing, exploring round the rocks, going to the aquarium and having fish 'n' chips for lunch.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE!

On Friday it was Kate's 8th birthday and she brought a lovely chocolate cake to school for all her friends in her class to enjoy. It was delicious!

We are learning to use describing words to make our writing interesting.Today the year 3 children in our class wrote poems on emotions.

It looks like a shooting tornado.
Somehow it tastes like a raw shark.
It smells like a stinky, smelly, gym sock.
It sounds like someone screaming, shouting and yelling.
It feels like a needle stabbing into your neck.
